Intrinsically safe Descriptive System Documentation (DSD), verification and development services

You may running an operation that appears to be  intrinsically safe, you may have the correct looking Intrinsically safe equipment installed, for example Zener barriers, Galvanic isolators and intrinsically safe field devices. However, are you sure you truly have achieved a fully compliant intrinsically safe installation? Do you have the required intrinsically safe descriptive system documentation required to demonstrate  the intrinsically safe characteristics of your installation?

More importantly are you confident that you could prove to any external auditors that you have achieved an Intrinsically safe installation! If the answer is either; no, in some cases, or I think so, give us a call and we can help to ensure you have the correct equipment installed, to the correct parameters and that can be demonstrated in the form of an approved descriptive system document that we can develop on your behalf.

We will formally record that the installation that has been selected to operate in your specific hazardous areas as suitable and safe for continued operation.

We also offer design packages to help customers at a design stage, ensuring that any potential Intrinsically safe installations achieve full compliance at the concept stage, after all intrinsic safety is an Ex protection based upon a design rather than solely relying on the mechanical properties of a piece of electrical equipment. Once a design is verified as intrinsically safe it is then up to the installers of the I.S installation to follow the I.S design and have the installation verified by a competent person.
